Pastoral Message – March 3, 2024
Thank you for supporting last year’s Pastoral Services Appeal! Your continued generosity towards this appeal resulted in $106,841 in rebates to the parish from the collective efforts of 442 families. These rebates mean that all funds are in place for the church sound system project. Project contractors are in place as we finalize plans for the city permitting process.
Our PSA goal this year remains at $209,000. To date, 73 families have pledged $41,500 with $25,000 in paid donations. We are our the way of meeting our goal, but we have a ways to go, $167,500 to be exact. Please consider donating to this fund on behalf of our parish. All funds received in excess of our goal return to the parish for our use.
PSA donations from our goal are pooled with other parishes throughout our Diocese and fund ministries including Catholic education, Catholic Charities of Orange County, seminarian formation, vocations and priest retirement. Rebates to the parish are important as they act as an annual parish fundraising campaign. We historically fund larger capital projects with these rebates to help provide for current as well as future needs of our parish. In the past 15 years, rebates have helped to fund the substantial renovation of the church, the complete renovation of the parking lot and infrastructure, the redesign of the church sound/video systems and funding for a master campus plan. All of these projects help us meet current as well as future needs.
This year’s rebates will help to continue our landscape work throughout our grounds with a focus on eco-friendly plants and materials that will help us to reduce our water usage. We are fortunate to have significant grounds that help and enhance our parish ministries. Care of these areas are ongoing and updates will help us to conserve current and future resources.
