Be the Light!
What does it mean to live your Catholic faith right where God has placed you?
Be the Light! is an invitation to lay Catholics to embrace their vocation in the world and deepen their relationship with Christ within the ordinary circumstances of daily life, including our families, work, responsibilities, relationships, and challenges.
The call to holiness is not reserved for a select few. It is a call for each of us to respond to the infinite love of God and allow that love to transform the way we live.
Join us for this inspiring evening as we discover how living our faith more intentionally can transform our own hearts, strengthen our families, and ultimately bring the light of Christ into our culture and our world.
Special Guest Speaker: Joan Patten, AO
Joan Patten serves as the Delegate for Consecrated Life for the Diocese of Orange and is a consecrated laywoman in the Secular Institute of the Apostolic Oblates.
Originally from Omaha, Nebraska, Joan was sent by her community to California in 2013 and now lives in Fullerton with other consecrated members of the Apostolic Oblates, where they help manage the Pro Sanctity Retreat Center.
In her role with the Diocese of Orange, Joan supports and promotes consecrated men and women and religious communities throughout the Diocese. She also helps organize vocational promotion and discernment opportunities for youth and young adults.
Joan has a special love for helping people learn how to pray, deepen their relationship with Jesus, and discover God’s call within their everyday lives. And when she is not serving the Church, she enjoys a good cup of coffee and time at the beach!
