Mark Mekailian

Contemporary Music Director

[email protected]

I lead and coordinate the music for our Sunday evening contemporary liturgy, guiding a small ensemble of cantors and musicians to foster authentic, heartfelt worship that draws the community closer to God. I select songs that align with the liturgical season and the themes of each Mass, prepare song sheets and slides, and work closely with the tech team and Director of Music to ensure a focused and prayerful musical environment.

  • What’s the best advice you’ve ever received? Though “The Serenity Prayer” is not a found as a group of verses in scripture; it sums up so many great scriptures throughout the bible. The line that always sticks with me reminds me to be present, to be grateful, and to navigate the difficult things with patience and grace. “…Living one day at a time; Enjoying one moment at a time; Accepting hardships as the pathway to peace…”

  • What’s a hobby you love that might surprise people? In my spare time, I like to design wristwatches in my sketchpad — maybe someday I’ll even try to build some of them!
