Our parish community is deeply grateful for the generosity shown through the Pastoral Services Appeal (PSA). Last year, our parish goal was $209,000, and thanks to the faithful support of so many, approximately $290,000 was raised. As a result, we anticipate receiving about $80,000 in rebates. To date, roughly $60,000 has already been deposited, with the remaining rebate expected soon. While diocesan reporting systems provide estimates, we ultimately rely on the confirmed figures as they are received.
We are currently in conversation with the company Granda regarding a custom-made monstrance. Remaining funds may be directed toward statues for our newly renovated prayer garden or an additional portable statue of Mary for the church.
In today’s Gospel, Jesus proclaims, “Blessed are the meek… Blessed are the merciful… Blessed are the peacemakers.” This is a fitting Gospel as we kick off our 2026 PSA. Through generous giving, our parish continues to live out the Beatitudes, rejoicing in the great work God is doing among us.
Contributions to the PSA support the vital ministries of the Diocese of Orange, including Catholic Education, Catholic Charities of Orange County, Seminarian Formation, Vocations, the Permanent Diaconate, Priest Retirement, and many other efforts that further the mission of our Catholic faith. Notably, 95% of every dollar given directly supports ministry, with only 5% allocated to administrative and fundraising costs.
As in years past, 100% of the amount raised above our diocesan goal will come directly back to our parish. These rebates have been essential in funding impactful parish projects such as new worship screens, parking lot renovations, and the beautification of our prayer garden. As we look ahead, we will prayerfully discern where the 2026 PSA rebate can have the greatest impact by benefiting our community, welcoming new believers, and building up the Kingdom of Heaven for the Glory of God.
