Pastoral Message:

June 22, 2025

Hey Y’all,

Happy feast day! Today is the Solemnity of the Most Holy Body and Blood of Christ. Of course, this is a doctrinal celebration. We’re celebrating a core truth of our Christian faith and worship. That is by the Holy Spirit’s action, humble bread and simple wine are transubstantiated, becoming the glorified, true presence of Jesus’s sacrificed body and blood. That was a long sentence I just wrote, and I was not sure if making “transubstantiation” into a verb was even possible, but the fundamentals of today’s Feast was expressed.

So, in celebration and adoration, consider the truth, wonder and miracle given us today and every time we come to the Lord’s altar. And let us be Eucharistic people, as we ever more thoughtfully become that which we take in, the Body of Christ, the Church!

Amen!
