Religious Curriculum

Sts. Simon & Jude School is especially proud of its integration of religion into all subject areas. This integration with other disciplines is the natural progression of our school experience. Religion pervades our entire school community, weaving itself throughout the curriculum.

Students have many opportunities to be active faith-filled Catholics at Sts. Simon & Jude School. Embracing Catholic values that stress individual worth, attaining knowledge, appreciating Catholic beliefs, developing a personal relationship with God and demonstrating service towards others within the greater community are paramount in achieving this goal. Students actively participate in a wide variety of prayer experiences. Each Monday, Student Council members lead a schoolwide morning prayer assembly. On a rotating basis, each grade level takes turns writing and presenting intercessions during this assembly. Daily prayer is evidenced in all classrooms. Students are taught the stories and wisdom of scripture as well as ways to integrate those lessons into their own lives. School liturgies are student lead with the guidance of a faculty advisor.

Sts. Simon & Jude School students model Christian behavior in the classroom and on the playground. The school provides each student with a challenging, comprehensive and relevant curriculum that fulfills the school’s mission and philosophy, and reflects its Franciscan identity.
