Noah Bukaty…Paying it Forward!

We all like to have our positive efforts acknowledged, and will usually show more of that behavior if it brings us some sort of encouraging acknowledgement. Here at Sts. Simon & Jude School, we concentrate on the good things our students are doing for the betterment of our school community. Whenever a student is “caught being good,” he/she is given a “good time” ticket to be signed and deposited into a designated container in each homeroom. At the end of the week, one ticket is drawn and that student is acknowledged during Monday morning assembly with a certificate and a small treat. As a special added bonus, ALL of the tickets earned are poured into a special container kept in the principal’s office. At the end of the month, one winning ticket is drawn during Monday morning assembly, and that lucky student receives a special prize!
This year, we are putting a new spin on our “Catch ‘Em Being Good” program. Whatever award the winning student receives at the end of the month, he/she MUST find a way to share 50% of it with someone else. The student will also be asked to explain how the award was shared, and the resulting impact of that generosity. Keep your eyes on our website to find out what our students decide to do in their efforts to “pay it forward.”
