Pastoral Message – August 28, 2022
Hey y’all,
Just a quick little word this week. I wanted to use this bulletin space this week to introduce a couple new folks to the parish. They’re both joining the parish/school staff, helping lead in faith formation, sacraments, and family ministry. So read below these little introductions to our sisters, Denise and Rhea. And then, go and meet them when you have a chance. They’re coming to Mass. They’re working in the school and the parish office. And they’re around to help us mature and grow! Look for them and welcome them and then offer to help ‘em out!
Then next time I write a little something here, I’ll tell you about some of the other ministries we’re expanding or starting, like parking lot prayer, and mission outreach trips. I’ll also tell you about some of the ministries we’re going to be bringing back this Fall. Ministries that have to do with baptism, funerals, and liturgy in general (These are being developed by Fr. Mike).
So keep the parish in your prayers! We’re working together, and growing in grace!

I feel very blessed to be joining the team at Saints Simon and Jude Parish. I have been involved in parish ministry for over 25 years! I am so lucky to have wonderful parents who always shared the importance of being more than a seat filler at church, but to be involved in the life of the parish so I did just that and discovered a deep love of God and a Faith that I have always been compelled to share.
I am a Mom of 14-year-old twins Emma & James, who are my life. I have been married for 19 years this October to my husband Jim. We enjoy traveling, sports and of course Disneyland. I was previously at St. Pius V parish in Buena Park for the last seven years as the Faith Formation Coordinator and Office Staff where I assisted with daily parish life. I am looking forward assisting with re-engaging parish ministries and helping the schools Mission Committee create family fun activities.
My life has been guided by this scripture “And we know that for those who love God all things work together for good, for those who are called according to his purpose”. – Romans 8:28 I pray that I will continue doing God’s work here at St. Simon & Jude and getting to know the parish community.

I am excited to be joining the parish community at Saints Simon & Jude as the new Director of Elementary Faith Formation & Family Ministry. I am a native to Orange County and had a dream of becoming a fashion designer. I attended Cal State Long Beach to fulfill my lifelong goal of becoming a wedding dress designer. God had other plans and converted my heart. He led me to a tightknit Catholic community I found the beauty in the Catholic faith. Surrendering to God’s plan I made a career change to pursue education. I attended Loyola Marymount University to get my masters in elementary education. I then moved to teach at Catholic schools in Los Angeles before starting my family and making the shift to parish ministry. I served as Youth Minister and Confirmation Coordinator at St. Anne’s in Seal Beach. I am married to Romeo, yes that is his real name, and we have two young children. I am eager to meet all the families at SSJ and look forward to what God has in store for this ministry.
