SUMMARY:Holy Week
DESCRIPTION:As we enter Holy Week\, we walk through a sacred story of sacrifice\, sorrow\, and love. We remember the table of farewell\, the garden of anguish\, and the cross of suffering\, reflecting on Christ’s love even in the darkest moments. Each day invites us to draw closer to Him\, trusting that God is at work even in silence. \n\n\n\nHoly Thursday calls us to humility and service\, Good Friday brings us to the cross where sorrow meets grace\, and Holy Saturday holds the quiet waiting between grief and hope. Yet this journey does not end in darkness—it leads to the promise of new life\, where hope rises and God makes all things new. \n\n\n\nAnd on Easter\, we will proclaim the fulfillment of that promise Living Hope. The tomb is empty. Light breaks through the darkness. What once seemed lost is made alive again. \n\n\n\nThis Holy Week\, come and experience the movement from shadow to light\, from sorrow to joy\, from death to resurrection because Christ lives\, hope is alive. \n\n\n\nPlease join your SSJ Catholic Community as we live out Holy Week through these special liturgies and offerings. \n\n\n\nApril 2 – Holy Thursday \n\n\n\n8:15am Morning Prayer \n\n\n\n7:00pm Mass of the Lord’s Supper \n\n\n\n8:00pm-Midnight Adoration \n\n\n\nApril 3 – Good Friday \n\n\n\n8:15am Morning Prayer \n\n\n\n12:00pm & 7:00pm The Lord’s Passion \n\n\n\n12:00pm Stations of the Cross Hike at the Santiago Retreat Center. SUMMARY:Lent at SSJ
DESCRIPTION:So often\, we find ourselves further away from God than we ever intended to be.\n\n\n\nOur Lenten theme\, Return\, reminds us that Scripture is always calling us back. \n\n\n\n“Return to the Lord your God.” – Joel 2:13 \n\n\n\nLike the prodigal son\, we come to recognize our need to go home. \n\n\n\n“I will arise and go to my father.” – Luke 15:17–18 \n\n\n\nAnd we trust in God’s promise of mercy and welcome. \n\n\n\n“Return to me\, and I will return to you.” – Malachi 3:7 \n\n\n\nLent invites us not only to turn our hearts back to God\, but to take intentional steps home by returning to the sacraments\, especially Reconciliation and the Eucharist\, and by re-engaging with the Church community where we are welcomed\, healed\, and strengthened together. Click Here for a printable schedule. \n\n\n\nEvents: Pray\, Fast\, Give Together. Lent is not a journey we walk alone. As we seek to return to the Lord\, we do so not only in personal prayer and sacrifice\, but in fellowship with one another.\n\n\n\nFriday\, February 20 Fish Fry & Stations of the Cross \n\n\n\nFriday\, February 27 Fish Fry & Rosary \n\n\n\nFriday\, March 6 Fish Fry & Taizé Prayer \n\n\n\nFriday\, March 13 Fish Fry & XLT/Penance Service \n\n\n\nFriday\, March 20 Fish Fry & Mary’s Way of the Cross \n\n\n\nSaturday\, March 21 Family Faith Night \n\n\n\nFriday\, March 27 Fish Fry & Taizé Prayer \n\n\n\nFriday\, April 4 Good Friday Hike & Stations of the Cross \n\n\n\nFish Fry: 4:30-7:30pm \n\n\n\nStations of the Cross & Prayer: 7:00pm \n\n\n\nLiturgies: Our Lenten liturgies are a sacred invitation to return home. Each Mass\, Penance Service\, and devotional gathering becomes an expression of the call to pray\, fast\, and give. We pray more intentionally\, fast from distractions\, and give devotion to the altar—uniting our small sacrifices with His perfect one.\n\n\n\nAsh Wednesday7am – 8:15am – 7:00pm – Mass/Ashes9:30am – 5:00pm Parking Lot Ashes \n\n\n\nPalm Sunday“Sat. SUMMARY:Easter Sunday
DESCRIPTION:Living Hope. \n\n\n\n\n\nJoin Us This Easter\n\n\n\nWe invite you to celebrate with us as a community of faith\, joy\, and hope. Whether you come every week or it has been a while\, you are welcome at Saints Simon and Jude.Saturday Easter Vigil7:30 PM \n\n\n\nEaster Sunday7:00 AM (Church)9:00 AM & 11:00 AM (Colman Hall & Church) \n\n\n\nCome and experience the joy of a Living Hope. \n\n\n\nA Hope That Is Alive\n\n\n\nThrough the Resurrection\, God restores us and sends us.Easter invites us to receive that hope\, live it\, and share it with a world that longs for Him. \n\n\n\n“Blessed be the God and Father of our Lord Jesus Christ\, who in His great mercy gave us a new birth to a living hope through the resurrection of Jesus Christ from the dead.” — 1 Peter 1:3 \n\n\n\nThis is not just a message for long ago—it is a promise for today. \n\n\n\nHope That Fills Us\n\n\n\n“May the God of hope fill you with all joy and peace in believing\, so that you may abound in hope by the power of the Holy Spirit.” — Romans 15:13 \n\n\n\nGod does not offer us a distant hope. He fills us with it.A hope that brings peace in uncertainty\, joy in the midst of life’s challenges\, and strength to keep moving forward. \n\n\n\nThis is the hope we celebrate at Easter. This is the hope meant for you. \n\n\n\nHope That Is Meant to Be Shared\n\n\n\n“Christ in you\, the hope of glory.” — Colossians 1:27 \n\n\n\nThe hope we receive is not meant to stay within us.It is meant to be lived out—in our families\, our friendships\, and our daily lives. \n\n\n\nThrough small acts of kindness\, forgiveness\, and love\, we become signs of that living hope to others. \n\n\n\nBe Not Afraid\n\n\n\n“I plead with you — never\, ever give up on hope; never doubt\, never tire and never become discouraged. Be not afraid.” — St. John Paul II \n\n\n\nEaster gives us courage.Because Christ has conquered sin and death\, we no longer have to live in fear. \n\n\n\nWe are invited to trust\, to begin again\, and to walk forward in hope. \n\n\n\nYou Are Welcome Here\n\n\n\nBecause He lives\, hope is alive. And that hope is for you.
