Congratulations to the following students who participated in our annual Geography Bee last Thursday morning. It was both an interesting and arduous morning of questioning, but our students certainly rose to the occasion! We are extremely proud of…

  • Cianna Gagliardino (4A)
  • Matteo Medlin (4B)
  • Michael Moretti (5A)
  • Ryan Ezenagu (5B)
  • Gavin Ingles-Garcia (6A)
  • Mallory Mottles (6B)
  • Sophia Kondo (7A)
  • Anna DiCrisi (7B)
  • Riley Miller (8A)
  • Mila Tran (8B)

At the end of seven rounds of questioning (including a tie-breaker question), Michael Moretti emerged as the over-all winner who will continue to represent SSJ in additional Geography Bee events. Each year, thousands of schools in the United States participate in the National Geographic Bee using materials prepared by the National Geographic Society. ALL of our student participants did an outstanding job of answering the questions. There are days when some of us could not find our way from one city to the next without the help of a GPS navigation system, so I’m sure we all learned a lot just from listening to all of the questions and answers. Thank you, students, for doing such a wonderful job of sharing your knowledge with us. Good luck, Michael! We are proud of you!
