Congratulations to the following students who participated in our annual Geography Bee last Thursday morning. It was a grueling morning of questioning, but our students certainly rose to the occasion! We are extremely proud of…

Geography Bee Matthew Gerken (4A)
Michael Moretti (4B)
Claire Riss (5A)
Everett Johnson (5B)
Lexi Muche (6A)
Sophia Kondo (6B)
Natalie Spas (7A)
Elise Webber (7B)
Meghan Le (8A)
Benjamin Le (8B)

At the end of the rounds, Benjamin Le emerged as the winner who will continue to represent SSJ in additional Geography Bee events. Each year, thousands of schools in the United States participate in the National Geographic Bee using materials prepared by the National Geographic Society. ALL of our student participants did an outstanding job of answering the questions. Many adults in attendance sat in complete awe and admiration of the students’ dignified composure, self-competence and knowledge. There are days when I can’t seem to find my way from Huntington Beach to Fountain Valley without getting lost, so I always learn a lot just from listening to all of the questions and answers. Thank you, students, for doing such a wonderful job of sharing your knowledge with us. Good luck, Ben! Our thoughts and prayers are with you.
