Mark your calendars for the 19th annual SSJ Fish Fry, which begins Friday, February 12, 2016, and continues each Friday through March 18, 2016. This Lenten tradition, hosted by the SSJ Men’s Club and SSJ PFA, has always been a success due to the hard work and dedication of our parent volunteers. Last year, the volunteer pool seemed to dwindle just a bit, which resulted in extra work for the dedicated few who were present every Friday. This year, we very much want to share the fun, AND the tasks. It truly does “take a village” to feed approximately 1,000 guests each Friday. We have well more than 300 SSJ School families who benefit from the proceeds of this event. If EVERY family committed to at least ONE Friday of volunteering their skills and time, the workload will be lessened considerably for those who lead the way.
And speaking of leaders, Joyce Peterson, our extraordinary Fish Fry Chairperson for many years, amiably retired from those responsibilities last year when her son graduated from 8th grade. We are presently in need of a dedicated individual, or team of individuals, to assume the PFA side of running this event. You will be supported by our PFA and the Men’s Club, and also by Joyce, who graciously responded to our plea for help and will be available to work with the new leadership as a guide and support for all of the dinners. If you are interested in this position, please contact Nadia Miller at email@example.com.
As previously stated, there are many tasks available, and no experience is necessary!
