Congratulations to the Class of 2016!
Valedictorian – Colin Weaver
Salutatorian – Meghan Le
This Saturday, June 4, the Sts. Simon & Jude Class of 2016 will receive their diplomas at a special graduation liturgy beginning at 9:00 a.m. As we bid our graduates a fond farewell, we wish them all the best as they begin their journey into high school and beyond. We are grateful for the many and varied contributions they have made to our school community–for their enthusiasm and love of life; for reminding us how to view things through youthful eyes; and for constantly renewing our faith and hope for the future.
We pray that our graduates don’t undermine their worth by comparing themselves to others; it is because they are different that each of them is special. We don’t want them to set their goals by what other people deem important; they will learn that only they know what is best for them. We hope that they don’t give up when they still have more to give; nothing is really over until the moment they stop trying. And we certainly don’t want them to ever dismiss their dreams; to be without dreams is to be without hope; and to be without hope is to be without purpose.
And finally, we pray that they may find serenity in a world they may not always understand; that they may discover enough goodness in others to believe in a world of peace; that they see their future as one filled with promise and possibility; and that the love and light of Christ will shine through them always!
