Judging by the smile on his face as he walked over to receive his prize, Jonathan Thornton (4th grade) was very happy to have his ticket drawn as the monthly “Catch ‘Em Being Good” winner. Before being handed the prize, Jonathan readily agreed to continue to pay it forward to help warm the heart of someone else…and that’s precisely what he’s done. Here is what Jonathan had to share with us about his kind deed:
“I donated half of my prize to St. Joseph Indian School in South Dakota for the school’s Energy Heat Program. The school has a really hard time keeping the classrooms warm during the harsh winters. At SSJ, we are so lucky to have such warm classrooms when it gets cold outside. So I decided to donate $50 to the school, which they were happy to get. They tripled my donation and turned it into $150, and they will be able to keep a classroom warm for more than a month. I was so happy to be able to help the students at St. Joseph Indian School.”
Special thanks to Jonathan for having such a big heart, and for bringing warmth and happiness to other students in need.
