What is denim day? When Levi Strauss & Co. made the first blue jean in 1873, his company changed the ways of fashion forever. To this day, jeans are integrated into our everyday lives. Levi Strauss was born on February 26, 1829. Each year around his birthday, Student Council celebrates “denim day” to commemorate the birth of Levi Strauss. This year, the students of SSJ will be celebrating “denim day” next Monday, February 29. Students may bring a dollar to school and wear jeans to celebrate “denim day!” All of the proceeds will go to our very own SSJ Student Council.
