Second Vatican Council and its impact on Catholics and the World
Sunday, 14 October 2012, 11:00am

A new adult Faith Formation Program will be offered on selected Sunday mornings this fall, beginning at 11:00 a.m. [following the 9:15 Mass] on September 9, in Colman Hall. The fall series will provide updated information on the Second Vatican Council [1962‐1965] and its impact on Catholics and the World. The purpose of the Council was to help Catholics translate their ancient faith into the context of their modern lives. The Mass was celebrated in the language of the people; Bible reading was encouraged; a more open spirit was promoted with our Protestant and non‐Christian neighbors; these and many other changes have occurred. And yet the Old Faith was never more alive and relevant. But change can be confusing and uncomfortable. Come and learn how the Church is helping us to live our Christian Faith more openly in every aspect of our lives. Phil Johnston, PhD, a lecturer in Catholic Theology and Sacred Scripture will direct the studies. All are welcome. Get a donut and cup of coffee and join us in Colman Hall at 11:00 a.m. starting next Sunday.
