Bible Study

BibleThe parish has two groups meeting on campus and two women’s groups meeting in a parishioner’s home.  Individuals interested in forming a bible study group can contact Nancy Cunningham at 714.794.1872 or ncunningham@ssj.org.

The Catechetical Center uses two resources for scripture study:

  • Little Rock Scripture Study is a ministry of the Diocese of Little Rock in Arkansas, in partnership with Liturgical Press in Collegville, Minnesota. Little Rock Scripture Study develops Bible study materials which: (a) Help people to read, study and live the Word of God; (b) Encourage people to grow in personal knowledge of God; (c) Help people experience a greater sense of Christian community; and (d) Promote and teach Roman Catholic biblical scholarship. The parish currently has several of the Little Rock Scripture Studies available.

Participants will receive a Study Set that includes a Study Guide and a Commentary. The Study Guide contains assigned readings and daily questions to guide you through a particular Scripture study.  The Commentary makes use of commentaries published by Liturgical Press.
