The parish community of Sts. Simon & Jude is excited to announce that Jack Jezreel, President and Founder of JustFaith Ministries will be the keynote speaker for our parish Festival of LiF on Saturday, February 22, 2014.
This event is for parishioners and guests (ages 4 years to adult) and starts at 8:15 a.m. with a Continental Breakfast followed by the Keynote presentation at 9:00 a.m. and workshops. The Festival of LiF will end at 12:30 p.m.
The keynote presentation will be on God’s Love as the Anchor, Challenge and Compass of Our Faith. This talk is about how the ministry and teaching of Jesus speaks to a God of an all-embracing love who invites us to an all-embracing life of compassion, mercy, forgiveness and joy. The mission of the Church to heal and restore all people is both a privilege and a gift, just as it is also a cross and redemption. Abundant life comes, paradoxically, not in hoarding ourselves but giving ourselves away to a world that hungers for communion.
Workshops following the Keynote presentation by: Jack Jezreel presenting on leadership and five critical commitments to a life of faith; Michelle Clark with Rainbow Environmental Services presenting on Greener Possibilities; and Kenneth Guertin from Goodwill Industries presenting on Social Justice and Thrift Store Shopping
A separate track will be provided for children 4 to 10 years of age during the keynote presentation and workshops.
Registration is required so that we can plan for hospitality. The suggested donation is $5.00/per person or $20.00/per family. Attached is a flyer and registration form on this major SSJ event. Contact Nancy Cunningham at 714-794-1872 for more information.
