Peace and all good!
Welcome to the Sts. Simon & Jude Catholic Church Faith Formation and Sacrament Programs. We are happy to help you in every way possible, whether you are new to our parish community or are returning for another year. The pastoral staff and those who minister as catechists, aides and chaperones look forward to your participation and are eager to share faith, stories, music and sacraments with the children and youth.
Registration for the upcoming year 2014 – 2015 is underway for faith formation and sacrament preparation. Our programs are meant to support the faith formation that is already occurring through you, the parents and guardians, whom the Church regards as the primary teachers and models of faith for your children. In regard to this important role, catechesis for your children is not enough, especially when they are looking to you for guidance. Parents/Guardians are expected to regularly participate in Sunday Mass with their children and youth. This practice helps your children to develop their faith-life and to live what they experience in their faith formation and sacrament preparation sessions.
Specific guidelines and information are part of our faith formation and sacramental programs. We are looking to you, parents and guardians, to show a care for the community of Sts. Simon & Jude Catholic Church by establishing a regular pattern of attendance and financial support so that our parish can thrive in the years to come.
We would like you to consider that over 50% of the financial support received from the parish comes from parishioners 55 years and older. Without prayerful attendance and regular stewardship by your family, a secure future for the Catholic Church is in doubt. Your involvement is essential to insure the continued growth of our church, through faith formation, sacrament preparation, ministries and parish activities.
Thank you for taking seriously the commitment to educate your children in the Catholic faith and compliance to our program policies. Contact us at 714.963.0014 with any questions you may have.
May the Lord give you peace,
Rev. Daniel F. Barica, OFM, Pastor
Nancy Cunningham, Pastoral Associate for Catechesis
